Yes, but if you have 3hp and recover 1hp to make 4hp it is still counted as 3hp, so when you get hit for 1hp damage it is counted as lowering your heath to 2hp instead of 3hp. Don't think about it too much or your head will start hurting.

Can I make a boss challenge or what If you had 3hp you would have been down to 2hp, even if the 2hp you started with was your max you still would have gotten through, so don't worry it still counts.

Megaman 64 is just Megaman Legends on the N64, the controls are so weird in that game. Sin and Punishment: Tsumi to Batsu is a great N64 game.
