Minecraft reminds me of Cave Story kind of, probably because I just made sprites at first and I play it with people from 'round these parts. Might also be the whole underground/mining concept. And I might just have to be a furfag and play Odin Sphere now.

I'm pretty sure this would require assembly hacking, since the game is coded to read mychar.pbm files as quote-sized sprites. It's nothing you could accomplish in a regular editor.

It wasn't too bad since you respawned at the same screen, but I was just getting sick of repeated trial and error to find a way to enter the screen and shoot the enemies without dying right away. Just doesn't feel like a great game mechanic to me.

I just found it incredibly frustrating. In most of the screens the enemies are placed so poorly it's a hassle to even land without getting hit. Also on the bosses attacks keep spawning right on top of me or right in front of me. It would be nice if it had two or three hit points instead of one.

In actual gameplay there seems to be a very low terminal velocity, but remember how fast the clouds are flying by when you jump off the island at the end... So I'm sticking with CF's theory.

Redeads were these zombie-like enemies in Ocarina of Time, they freeze you with their stare making a horrible scream sound, slowly walk towards you, and bite your fucking neck. All while making creepy moaning noises. Essence of fear right there.

Also, redeads. Don't even get me started on redeads.
