I'll have to wait until I actually have in-game content to do more... however, you could just edit a save to start you off after the core with the flags for it set.

The only reason that won't be happening is that there was a space to fill that was too large, so an entity had to b e removed to fit it into the game, i.e., the core.

I think the main issue is when you stack instruments ending in 0 together. They sorta just blob together and glitch, and i think that might be what he meant.
