I wish there was. But I found these sprites in the Cave Story Tribute site, in the beta information section, I just ripped the sprites from the screenshots.

Another thing about this boss is that it looks like a recycled sprite from the Beta phase, as he looks almost like the Beta Balrog (Boss). That's just my guess.

I see where your going, your making the backgrounds manually. ..The biggest concern for that though, my mod mostly uses the MOON background, and MOON2 (Edited without the stars and moon), and plus, I have alot of details in my maps. If the backgrounds would be tiles, then my levels will look...
