My suggestions might not help at all, but they might also work. They've helped me sometimes.
If you find that you're taking this long and you're struggling, you could ask the teacher for clarification/extra help, or to have extensions on certain assignments. If you have a study hall or something like that, teachers usually seem to have time then to help, or you can use the period just to get some work done.
If you're doing well and you're not struggling and it' s just a huge load of homework, again ask your teachers about extensions or tell your guidance counselor.
