Wow... All the time that I, Dunc, Cool, and some others spent sympathizing Shane and encouraging him to not be so hard on himself... Was a waste. All those mods were made by an imposter... All that time I spent answering his modding questions were a waste of time... Now I don't feel so guilty that I hardly played any of his mods. In fact, I'm no longer guilty, but rather glad that I've been leaving him hanging in terms of discussing Cave Story Time Warp with him via PM for almost a year now, so that I didn't end up wasting any more time than I already have.
I always thought Shane was a little odd, but I never suspected he was trolling us. I trusted that the Shane I knew was a good person. I rolled my eyes at all the persecution he suffered when he was new, and felt that he didn't deserve the six-month ban that he got. I even felt pretty sad for him when he said that his cat Simba (who in the link above is revealed to not only be a girl instead of a boy, but is also still alive) was killed. He was nice, gave praise to my work, and was generally fun to talk to. ...And all this time, I was talking to an imposter.
I feel betrayed.

It should be noted that the imposter - someone called The Eternal Darkness - at least tried to impersonate him. Some basic things we know - like, his name is Shane Neumann, he lives in Gansbaii, South Africa, he has a cat named Simba - that is all true. But Shane himself noted that TED made his life out to be a lot worse than it really is. His parents aren't abusive, Simba is still alive, and the real Shane is more serious and positive.
But all of those mods, and lots of other things...despite being slightly based on the truth, were fake as well...
And please, please don't blame it on real Shane. It's not his fault in any way...

I don't get why the "imposter" made fake mods. It's not like they're terrible, they're actually very well put together. Either this TED fellow is a very professional imposter, or what I think, this is still the same Shane. The story doesn't come together, not at all.

As you can see from the pic (probably, I'm not sure if it'll clarify much), there are four categories at the Dragon Riders Planning Forums, with community mods, mods made by two of the forum members, and the <em class='bbc'>eleven</em> mods made by the impostor. (How much free time did he have, anyway?)
Eleven of the mods which has boards at the forums are the impostor's, while the remaining three aren't. I'm sorry that I didn't clarify it as much when I wrote that.
