I followed X-Calibar's advice. And thanks to the magic of AVG, newly-cleaned laptops, and new initiative, I'm in software heaven.

I finally got all of my stuff on the HTC Desire. It's amazing. The Desire is just so much quicker, smarter, and sleeker than my old Huawei Ascend II, it's unbelievable. I have multiple emulators - Nesoid, SNesoid, GBC A.D, and My Boy! - and after a year I can finally play them using the screen, because the Desire has multi-touch. Splenderful feelings indeed <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/grin2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

And because I translated most of my old camera photos and pictures to the USB, as well as several other adjustments, I suddenly had a brand-new 256 MB to play with. After weeks spent with nearly no space.

Omigod, it was so much fun. I went on a downloading rampage, recovering all of my old apps I was forced to uninstall. Pocket, Dumpster, Tubemate, Jellyflop!, Evac...these and many other trusted companions joined me in this glorious new land.

And I found new friends, too. I didn't like the HTC keyboard...and lucked out on an app that allowed me to summon my old friend Gingerbread Keyboard, one of the best keyboards ever in my opinion. And I tried out the exotic SwiftKey Trial, finding it pretty awesome. (I'm typing with it right now ;3)

I befriended a little app called Nice Simple Photo, because the HTC for some reason lacks a Picture Frame widget. It's proven to be a nice little app. c:

I met the gloriously fun Guncrafter, which I have already made a Polar Star in. Guncrafter joined my party a few days after I got the Desire, and it is now a new member of my old posse of favorite games. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I also made acquaintances with the enigmatic, slightly insane, and yet warm and friendly Cat Evolution Party. It's a good friend despite scaring me. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/grin2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I got a new File Manager, and it works beautifully. I recovered Rocket Player to save me from the crappy default player, and I welcomed the pre-installed Dropbox app with open arms. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/redface2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

With old friends like Shazam, WiimoteController, and Writer joining me alongside newcomers like Sonic CD, I'm the happiest Android user in the world. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Oh, and it gets better. Suddenly, I can use all of those apps my old phone didn't support.

Yessir. That means Photon Browser, Temple Run 1&2 and Vector are within my grasp.

HECK YEAH.

You don't even know how happy that makes me. It's an amazing feeling to look at that list of apps and realize I can play EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE THEM.

And even besides the apps, I'm just so happy. On my old phone, Gallery was an incredibly slow app that didn't work very well. Gallery here is redonculously quick. I love it so much. <3

Jellyflop! doesn't lag at all. Neither does Rocket Player. Even DeviantART is as fast as it should be.

Everything is new, fast, and useful...my old phone taken up to eleven. I'm in Nirvana.

And that's just the phone. On my USB, I am finally breaking down the barriers that have held me for so long.

I used to be very skittish. I was simultaneously enchanted with technology and afraid of it. To think:it was a mere 1 1/2 years ago that I first got Cave Story:not by downloading it from the internet, but by a kind friend giving me a USB with Cave Story on it, already set up.

Now? I've joined an Internet forum, I've downloaded tools and created a Cave Story mod, I've downloaded games and organized all of my things in one place.

But that's not good enough. I needed to go farther.

So I've just gotten Audacity. I've gotten Paint. NET. I will get other things in the future.

Before, I saw people make music mashups and thought "that seems hard". I've depended on others to upload their music, because I was too scared.

But no longer!

I am determined to do things for myself. Rather than FANTASIZE of a fast version of The Sun Rises, I can learn the ropes of Audacity and make it myself. Rather than stand to the side, fidgeting, while others work on things like the community pixel art project, I can actually contribute with Paint. NET. Rather than wait to build up the courage to ask about how to ASM a Loading screen, I can download OllyDbg, make my backups, roll up my sleeves, and dive into the tutorials head - first.

This is the beginning...the beginning of a technical renaissance. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/grin2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

By the way once you're done with Sonic CD you may want to get Sonic 1 for Android. The same guy who ported Sonic CD over to newer devices also did a port for Sonic 1 recently, and from what I've played so far (aka hours and hours) it's pretty faithful and feels really nice.
