I dunno, I usually only give my opinion when it's usolicited and more importantly unwanted.

As anyone who payed attention knows, I recently acquired a new HTC Desire. It's sleek and fast and it's about 4 times cooler than my old Ascend II. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/grin2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

No more version incompatibilities, no more annoying bugs, less stupidity! I'm in heaven after 2 years of owning that thing. ^_^

However... I can't just abandon my 381 songs, or the exclusive Nesoid and Snesoid apps ı got for free due to an incredibly lucky occurrence. Or the 700 pictures that haven't been taken to my USB. Or the Writsr documents that are still there, or the videos I have saved, or the contacts and messages, or...

Yup, after so many years I have a LOT of stuff still there. The problem is, I might have a virus there. If I connect the two phones to a computer to transfer the content, I may be transferring the virus too. That's a problem. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/frown2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

So I was thinking of uploading folders to Dropbox, then redownloading them on the Desire. Trouble is, I'm not sure if doing that would transfer viruses. I scanned the Ascend with Avast and it returned no problems, but I'd rather be safe.

So should I buckle down and get my phone professionally checked and cleaned of viruses? If so, how do I go about doing that? Or would Dropbox be safe?

Tell me what you think.

Can't you just put everything important onto an SD card, and stick it in the new phone?

There is literally no way for me to tell if a status is locked yknow
Anyway it would depend on the mechanics of the virus but generally speaking it should be safe
