Asus is a pretty well-respected brand, generally speaking
What are your requirements?

Dell laptops have the greatest laptop keyboards I've tried, so if you're planning to be typing a lot I'd suggest Dell.

@Noxid Requirements?... Generally speaking, I have a decent some of money to spend on it. I suppose Windows 7 would be the best OS, and also one that can run most current-gen games nicely. Maybe that's not specific enough, tell me what you think.

@Dunc2403 The keyboard doesn't play a huge role in the decision process. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':p' />

Well, if you want to be able to run current-gen well enough you're going to need a respectable GPU, first and foremost. Avoid anything that says "Intel HD Graphics" as even the highest-end 4000 series will struggle to play modern games above low quality settings.
However, if you want something that could be remotely considered a gaming laptop, I'm going to guess you'll have to shell out at least a thousand of your american dollars.
