I like the shade effect you have where it transitions from Ballos's upper head down to his eyes. For some reason the atmosphere of this picture makes me thing of Dr. Eggman.

Well, generally, the idea behind fan art is to portray the characters in a new and creative way, so if you're going to come up with most of those criticisms for this image, then there are a lot of creative liberties taken with fan art in Cave Story and other works that would break certain rules...

That's a really nice drawing of Toroko, I love the way that the colors and shading blend together into a really rick texture of her fur. For that island drawing, is that whole thing made from scratch, or did you incorporate some photograph of clouds with some outline of the island?
