I have had no power at my house for 2 days. I am posting this from a library that actually has power. Some say it will be out for a few more days.

I shouldn't be complaining, but I'm not! It's inconvenient but it's kinda rewarding in a way. I just don't like going pee in the dark.

I just wanted to let you all know..I know you all must be worried sick since you love me so much.

Yeah I won't be able to read your snarky replies anytime soon.

Wow, I guess we were lucky. We only lost power for 4-5 hours two days ago, and the weather has been great since then. I've never really lived without power for more than a day, but I can imagine how agonizing it would be. I hope your power gets restored soon.

Damn, that sure sucks. Can't you post from your phone?

There used to be a lot of power outages here about 10 years ago. They were constant, but they were never that long. Also don't mean to offend anyone, but somewhere back in the 90s we only had warm water at weekends.

That's terrible... Blackouts suck. (I know; I used to live in California.) I hope you get power back soon too. Good luck.

(I sent you a PM which I've been meaning to do, but the librarians may not approve...)

And here I thought you had run off with Jackalope on a great adventure to have zany shenanigans.

Also, who logs into Steam on a library computer? ಠ_ಠ

Wow, I feel sorry for all that lost power. I guess my location is a place where that type of thing doesn't occur.

5 days without power. I survived it! I really didn't mind at all. Got a lot of reading done and did productive stuff.

Towns around us are slowly getting power back. They just got to my street today.

As far as Irene goes, it wasn't too bad. A few tree limbs fell here and there on my street. In other parts of town entire trees fell over. Other states had it worse. People died in the Carolinas and Vermont. I am thankful I only had power outages and not floods. I am also SUPER thankful this happened when it did and not during the winter where we would be freezing our asses off and be in pitch black by the time it's 3 PM.

The only issues were:
-Going to the bathroom in the dark
-Going to bed exhausted at 7, waking up at 11 or so, and spending the entire night playing Pokemon and reading. Not particularly a bad thing, but I wanted sleep.
-Sharing the one bathroom with a window
-Not bathing
-Trouble breathing
-Going to the hospital 2 nights in a row for said breathing troubles (I am used to breathing the purified air from the AC, so I guess I had a bad reaction to it)
-All the food in the fridge spoiled, so the house smelled even worse than it already did
-Reading by candlelight can be somewhat irritating when it's windy outside..

See? I survived. I don't need the internet. I don't need any of you!
And Jonas, I can only update my Facebook status from my phone. I can't actually go on Facebook or any internet sites. Or I can but I just don't know how. Not like I care, either way.

Our water is heated by electricity, so the water was ice cold >_>

The toilet and faucets worked perfectly fine, mind you.

And being without electricity was strange, but rewarding in a sense. My parents were ripshit towards the end, but I didn't mind so much.

Ah.. I guess you maybe don't have well water then?
I just remember that whenever we expected power outages, we had to set aside buckets of water as a precaution for the toilet or whatever.
