it's basically a heavy edit of Doom 2 to look, sound and feel like Mega Man, with every single Robot Master from the NES Mega Man games plus others to pick as a skin from the get-go, every single weapon from MM1-6 plus others, usable items like E-Tanks, W-Tanks, Rush adapters and Tango, as well as the Proto and Bass Busters, a unique map for each robot master as well as tons of Wily stages etc all with the music from the NES games... and it has both a rather extensive offline mode complete with training arena and several chapters' worth of gameplay, including unique bosses at the end of each chapter.

And of course, online multiplayer.

I saw a video of some of my Youtube Poop fag aquaintences playing this game. Looks kinda average to me, looks like you just run around in circles and just kill whoever crosses your path.

Lolno. I don't know what games you're playing, but games like this Megaman one are a dime a dozen.

Well I mean, you could say the same about pretty much any fps ever made.

The fact it's old Doom-engine--though fitting for the graphics and such--makes it a little less than optimum for things such as chatting online and the fact everyone's represented as a flat sprite despite the fact they take up a 3D space, but I mean, the loving care that went into this project, how every single weapon works like they do in the Megaman games yet altered enough to make sense if they all existed together and were in a 3D plane, all the stages with the little touches like the penguins on the iceberg out in the ocean on Gemini Man's stage and stuff like that, it's really very exciting and fun for a guy like me who's always loved classic megaman.

My point exactly, which is why I think COD, MW, etc are the biggest milks of money I've ever seen. (50$ apiece and most people own the entire series.) I don't see the appeal.

Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch

I'm just looking for more people to play this game with.

TL;DR it's the Doom Skulltag, with everything modded to a 8-Bit feel... Yannow what, I'll let the video talk! ^w^

(disregard the "Coming Soon" on this video, it's a year old)

If I got anyone interested, here's the original source:

Re: Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch

I have actually played this before.
I loved all of the ten minutes that I played so far, and I feel that I need to play this more, considering how much I loved the original Mega Man games.

This is why searching is useful, almost made a new topic about this. Anyway, I found out about this game a couple years ago and it slipped my mind for some time. In the past, there has been many different mods released for this version of Doom 2 and one of them caught my eye:
Verses Saxton Hale (Basically like VSH in Tf2, which I basically quit) I found this version of the game more fun then the counterpart, and I also came across this today:
diph.php

It's Quote!
diph.php

And Curly!
They function as a duo boss (Like Seeldier and Seeman) and are actually hard to beat, I got lucky and was able to get screen shots of both of them.
Anyway, the community around there is nice (I've only been replaying for a week or two and I'm already getting hello's when I join the server) and they can be a bit rough at times, but overall, I think it's worth checking it out. (Also, there's apparently a "Prinny" person over there and I'm not fully sure if it's the same Prinny I'm connecting here.)
Oh, and also, current release is v3a. (I came in about v2b)

Um, the mod with the CS duo as hale or just adding files in general to play with MM8BDM? I can do a tutorial some time for you if you want. Also, on the unrelated, but semi-interesting side, I know how to host servers with zandronum, so I could possibly host some things.
Also, the VSH game mode has gone under very drastic changes when compared to when these photo's were taken. (February of 2013 and now August of 2013)
