Mediocre Superpowers

The basic premise of this is to come up with superpowers that aren't great (eg superman) and aren't terrible (ability to become me) but are solidly in the middle. The power must (generally speaking) be good enough to motivate the hero to do something with it.

I have no idea if this will be any good as a forum game,but m'eh.


Invisibility when your eyes are closed.

 

The ability to learn... But not teach.

The ability to switch sexes instantly (great as a disguise)...
...But only when wearing that sex's gender's clothing.

 

To live forever... in eternal pain.

 

To be able to shapeshift into a quantity of dirt that takes up the exact same amount of volume as your body.
(Much more useful if you think about it)

What about incredibly gender neutral clothing?

 

I'd guess you become gender neutral?
What would happen if you pranced around in the nude? (considering that gender is based off of clothes)

 

The ability to go into bullet-time.

 

Time traveling when going to bed.

 

Levitating 3 feet off the ground.

Born sex, in both cases, I guess.
Though maybe intersex with gender neutral clothing?

 

The ability to turn pencils into pens.

 

The ability to turn any screen into a touchscreen.

 

These superpowers are supposed to be at least marginally useful guys

The ability to enhance any image regardless of source quality

 

The ability to see the future.
While on LSD.

 

I could slow down and speed up my heartrate willingly (50-110) as a teenager. Never tried since. Never used it for any smart thing.

 

That's pretty neat, actually.
Have you read Stranger in a Strange Land? That's one of the things VMS is able to do, but on a much more extreme scale.

 

This seems to be turning into "[very awesome super power] but only when [special circumstance]"...

The ability to make any food incredibly delicious and healthy without changing its mass or volume.

 

The ability to heat and cool solid metal at will
