Yes, evidentially, there is a Cave Story Manga in Japanese somewhere on the internet! Be on the lookout for it. If I can get all of the pages, I will see into getting it professionally translated into English. Seriously.

I also looks exceedingly similar to the new PSP box art. That is fan art, so there might be some connection.

From what I know, the first two pictures are standalone, not a complete manga.
The last picture is PR material Variant used for their inofficial PSP version of Cave Story.

I know Variant used the picture, but it looks way to close to the manga to be coincidence. Find that artist, and chances are you will find that manga.

Also, maybe if we knew what they were saying, we could figure out what this is from. Darn you Japan and your bizzare language!

If I had to guess I would say that the artists for the title cover and the manga are two separate people. Also, the artist of the PSP Cover art is called Alpha, but that's all I know.

Compare:

-Eyes in the manga are consistent: large black dot in the middle, while the PSP art does not have these dots.
-Curly's eyes are a much duller blue in the PSP are then they are in the Cover art
-The manga has much more defined face shapes for all of the characters, while the cover art's faces are very rounded, especially Curly's face.
-The earpieces in the manga are primarily white with a black ring at the base, like earphones. The earpieces in the PSP art are fully black.
-The manga art's shadows blend well and go from light shades to dark shades, while the PSP art uses grey as a shadow for more or less everything.
-The shading in the manga is used much more and creates a softer feel, while the shadows in the PSP art are hard - there might be a little variation such as at the edges of Quote's arms but shadows are generally much sharper.
-The writing on Quote's hat is jagged and red in the Manga, while in the PSP Art it is grey and straight, as well as both appearing different in general layout.
-Quote and Curly in the manga are clearly robotic, with panel lines on Quote's face, ridges and such on Curly's chest, visible joints in Quote's arm, etc. while the PSP art has them appearing almost human.

Good point. But still, where did the manga itself come from? That's the problem. :p

In this thread (http://forum.vgcats.com//showthread.php?t=16428&page=9)
there is a unmissable post there by MyDoom which is where I got every
piece fanart I showed you guys including those manga images, so ask him.

I never showed you guys those images before because I assumed you had all
seen them before, then I discovered how hard it was to search for the place
I had originally gotten the images from.

I am quite interested in that translation, I've wondered what it said for a
long time now.

First picture:
If you go away from here now, I guarantee her life (I think it's Sue).
Or else...?
I guarantee this things life.

Second picture:
The enemies are coming.
Leave the back to me.
Shall we go? Link the launch (well educated guess) programm.
Roger, Quote.
(Too much kanji in the narrative that are hard to look up)

Took what Tadashi gave and added a little interpretation. I'm fairly sure I got Misery's second statement wrong, but I couldn't think of any way to translate it well. It would make more sense to be if she was threatening to kill him as an example of what she was going to do to Sue, but whatever. :p

EDIT: It just occurred to me that the speech bubble over Quote in the first picture has no arrow, so it may be Misery still talking. If so, it could probably be "Or..." and then, in the last frame, "I'll let this one live too." in such a way that she's hurting him in the air to push Quote into leaving quickly to stop Misery from hurting him.

I translated them pretty literal.
Misery says she will let Sue live if he leaves. Quote says/thinks "Or else...". Misery completes it with saying she will guarantee Jack's live.

Here the transcript:
今すぐにここから立ち去るなら、こいつの命は保障してやる。
もしくは…
あれの命を保障してやる。

She doesn't use も, which would indicated she would let Jack alive as well.

-fake edit-
Man, it even stands there in a small bubble over the Mimiga head: "Sue(Suu as it is written)" O.o

-edit-
Man... the bubble with "or else..." is Misery's bubble. It just got clear as I was on my way home.

洞窟物語 is Cave Story
芸術 is Art
イメージ is Image or Images
喜劇 is Comic

That's as much as google will tell me.

EDIT: It's weird that the text boxes are in English.

Manga ( 漫画 ) is comic. Japanese see manga and comics as the same, this can be said of anime and regular animation as well.
If you are looking for a Japanese dictionary, use this site:
http://www.nihongoresources.com/

For the text boxes, they make about as much sense as the OSD the Terminator has. Just decoration to make it look more computer-like.
You should also have noticed the engrish in there^^

I believe that the robots use english as their primary
language since a lot of programming languages use english
words e.g.
HTML ... style="background-image: blue;" ...
ActionScript ... this.gotoAndStop(16); ...
SQL ... SELECT firstName WHERE ...
So it would make sense that any errors/information
that is sent would be in english e.g.
**Error** Scene=Scene 2, layer=Action, frame=1:Line 143: ')' expected
an error message would be in ENGLISH not Japanese.
Explains why Quote's hat is in english.

So robot language = english
Everyone else = japanese

of course the robots will understand japanese as well...

That's not completely true. Computers know binary. Then an application sits on top of that that reads off DOS, and turns it into binary. The the OS goes on top of that, which translates English to DOS, and the DOS app translates DOS to Binary. So they speak in math. Japan has the same thing, but the OS turns Japanese into DOS, and so on.

Computer = Assembler.
And Assembler is written in binary code. Which is displayed as hexadecimal most the time.

And Assembler is written in binary code

Its Assembly. An assembler is used to translate assembly language statements into the target computer's machine code. Its not technically wrong to call it assembler, but assembler really is something completely different then the language itself. Its confusing =\

The robots would on a basic level use computer binary code. Thats how computers work. Now, their programming, which is something completely different (HTML isn't a programing language!), could be in english, but that makes no sense, because all compilers are simply interpreting words into assembly level statements. You can program in japanese too. Pixel knows almost no english, and he programmed Cave Story, didn't he? I might also add that understanding a language has nothing to do with what language its code was written in. Its code, to the robot, is a bunch of binary commands. You'd have to program it to understand language. How the heck they programmed a robot to have free will without using quantum computing is beyond me, but hey, thats what fiction is for.

Also, haven't you noticed in the readme for Cave Story that "error messages may appear in japanese"? I think the very existance of cave story is enough to demonstrate why something doesn't have to be programmed in english.

Bottom line is, language doesn't matter to a robot, and it definatly doesn't explain why the writing on his hat is in english.
