Although I fully agree with you Noxid, your comment was a bit arrogant or at least a bit harsh. An English only forum would be the best, yes, because it's the language most people understand. That's the only reason we should speak English (otherwise it would be against human equality), unless the creator of the original CS forum determined otherwise. Who has the right to elevate one language over another? Love, peace and "best wishes" are equally noble in all languages. A thread for other languages might be a solution.

EDIT:It's one of the human rights too:
"Linguistic human rights are the human and civil rights concerning the individual and collective right to choose the language or languages for communication in a private or public atmosphere."

I wasn't intending to be arrogant, although yeah I guess it does come off that way. I need to stop posting first thing in the morning.

I'm not saying that any one language is better than any other, but this forum is english-based and so it's implied that by posting here you can read, understand and communicate in the english language. If someone doesn't want to use english then there are plenty of forums available on the Great Big Internet that cater to polish, french, spanish, german, etc. speakers.

If people just go around posting in whatever language they feel like then, as you say, not everyone is going to be able to understand every post and that is undesirable as it reduces readability of the forum. Using multiple languages in one post just makes it more cluttered with redundant/unparsable information. Just as you wouldn't (shouldn't) appreciate it if I decided to increase the length of all my posts by having a copy of them in ASCII hex pairs

Ich habe gedacht dass er meinte nur dass wir in diesem Thread andere Sprachen nutzen, nicht in die ganze Foren. Ich sehe kein Problem damit.

For those of you too lazy to open Google Translate:
I was under the impression that he only meant for us to speak other languages in this thread, not in the entire forums. I see no problem with that.

For those of you too lazy to open a spoiler tag, gtfo.

I would like to point out that it's forum policy to speak English, not doing so would be against the rules and therefore bad.

Here at the Cave Story Tribute site forums we always follow the rules.

It is against the rules to not be able to speak English, something which all of our bilingual members can do.

Not all of them put it to good use, however.
