Hey World -,

Each i try to mod cave story, Even just put a little tiny block,Cave story stop working.
I got this error:

Anyone know how to fix this? I want to try mod cave story :(

Don't use SW.

That's honestly the only issue I can relate this to. Having 102+ maps also crashes the game but if you're just modding like a single block I guess that wouldn't make sense.
I would download a fresh copy and try again.

I used cave editor and booster's lab. i tried download a fresh copy 5 time

Well CaveEditor and BL are very similar so they should work fine with each other. It's like having a Windows XP and a Windows 7 on a couple different computers.

Now Sue's is Vista. But unlike CE it can add maps properly. I don't know where you got the arbitrary number 102, but you can have up to 127 maps without any issues except for Andwhy going crazy trying to port your maps to a different platform.

Also, uncheck read-only on the whole folder.

No. I mean i tried using Cave Editor first try and then i use booster's lab on my second try.

Can you upload the .exe so I can see what's wrong with it
I'm preeetty sure BL gives you a warning whenever it tries to overwrite the .exe, does this still happen even when you hit "no" to that?

I've run into the issue when making JNR. Once I hit 102 maps it refused to start the .exe whatsoever. I deleted one map and it worked fine.

I have the same problem when I try to mod now, Whenever I save a mod, it gives me that error message, I'll upload the file.

This never happened to me while I still used Cave Editor v0.99c, but it did whenever I used Cave Editor v0.99d.

MinecraftPro I was just having the same problem with a mlp version I'm working on.
To get it to a point that I can mod the sprites i had to barrow an old net book with windows xp on it,
I don't know why but it seems like cave editor hates windows 7.

Well since I've been using 7 to make most of my mods I don't think it's the OS being stupid.

There is a way to modify the sprites (kind of) easily on Windows 7, and that's by converting the ".pbm" files to ".bmp" in Cave Editor and removing the (C)Pixel requirement.
If I had to guess, maybe it's the updates or something that causes this problem.
The <PS+ command crashed Cave Editor v0.99c but it didn't crash v0.99d.

Yhea I have Cave Editor 99d, and could not find any other versions. I was able to remove the requirments on a borrowed net book but when i get to the editing of the story I may have to quit without a more permanent solution.
