Could the Demon Flowers Have No Negative Effects AT ALL?

I was reading King's page on the wiki and on the trivia section, I read part of an interview:
In Pixel's BBS, it is stated that King did eat some red flower, but did not go rabid because he cooked it.
"> Why does King have red/pink eyes?
by red flower."
"> Hey pixel.
> How did king survived the red flower and not dissapear like toroko?
He may have cooked it.."
Reference: http://hpcgi2.nifty....bbs/bbs0003.cgi
After reading it, I was shocked. Then I wondered if that's what Arthur (bless his soul) did to drive the Red Demon away to save the village.
Any thoughts?

Maybe. There ARE red flowers in Arthur's house on the ground.

Okay first of all, stay away from the wiki, it's full of shit.
And second, it seems that Pixel is implying that the red flowers do have negative side effects, thus his response being a suggestion as to how the negative effects were removed. If there were no side effects he would have said something like "the red flowers don't do that".

Boiling Red Flowers might reduce their potency. I suspect that the flowers turn red because of a chemical that reacts to Ballos' magic. If you can extract and crystallise this substance (Red Crystal) then you can assume that boiling the flowers would cause this substance to leach out into the water. This was probably part of how the Red Crystal was formed.

Even cooked, red flowers still have negative side effects, ya know. Reddened eyes and increased temper, anyone?

Also, please listen to MagicDoors. I wouldn't touch the wiki with a 39 and a half-foot pole. :balrog:

Oh, him? Real nice guy, I have tea with him every couple of months. :3

But let's not derail a thread, that could end badly.

What if the flowers were actually painted red the whole time, and lead inside the substance makes them go berserk and mutated?

Well if they're drugs it goes without saying that they're for bunnies.

I wouldn't say "bunny drugs" because it works on Humans as well given enough of it, but Mimigas have a low tolerance for the stuff. Why the Doctor didn't test tolerance levels and effects on the many species on the island is beyond me. Imagine a rabid Gaudi or Droll.

Too late, I'm permanently calling them bunny drugs. Even though I realized that shortly after I posted.

Another topic on this... Ignoring that fact, I want to say something that I noticed.

"My lord... Shall I consume one as a test? ..." Misery as they talk about it in Cave Story
This is what Misery says in the original Cave Story, however in Cave Story+

"My Great Doctor... Would you like to eat one? ..." Misery as they talk about it in Cave Story+.
The fact that Misery first offered to eat one herself means something, but if she offered to feed one to the Doctor, it might've made him stronger. (Before he made the Red Crystal)

I'm positive the Demon Flower has negative effects. Don't forget Toroko and the fact that she went rabid. Although King COULD'VE boiled it, it doesn't mean a whole lot with Arthur or Toroko.

I believe the wiki's half-legit.

I wonder how long Misery has been around. If she really knew how they worked. From that text always thought she knew what they did. But now I'm wondering she was interested to see what they did.
