Im pretty sure I once stumbled upon a Chako x Chie fanfic before, so there's always the unfortunate possibility that that happened

I always thought Chie was younger than Toroko, given their body sizes in their sprites. Then again, age probably doesn't matter with height as well for rabbit people.

the game makes it pretty clear that chie is somewhere between 10 and 15 years old. I cant quote the dialogue exactly but she is too young to remember the robot wars which occurred 10 years ago but they happened during her lifetime, if I remember right.

Intentionally silly theories aside, Chaco clearly possesses a warm personality. What dialogue the two had while caged probably consisted of her keeping Chie’s spirits up and emotions cool, because even a little girl as spunky as Chie is would be a little afraid in that situation. If so, she’s clearly succeeded by the time you show up - Chie's response to you during the fight is one of the snarkiest lines in the game. -w-
