Cave Story V.S.

I've always wanted to see Quote in Smash Bros but like all good indie heroes, he is smash-less. Maybe I could make a new Cave Story battle game in which players fight over LAN. Players select a character, select a weapon, then a stage, then begin the fight!

I hope you have the dedication for making a Cave Story-based fighting game. I had plans for making a game called "Cave Fighter" like nearly a year ago, and the most I did was a concept player select screen. (yes, it says Player Secelt, that's from the World Heroes 2 game)

EDIT: Does anybody know where I can find some Cave Story Custom Characters? I tried downloading a custom balrog Char, but the download page was all in Japanese, and was surrounded by pretty revealing advertisements for hentai, and my computer is in the living room, and my parents are in the room, and being in the living room around my parents is the worst place possible to accidentally stumble upon hentai.

Take a look at this old thread... At least two characters for M.U.G.E.N have been made possible. Also, I already made one stage.

if there are more they are unreleased, unplayable, or they are computor viruses disguised as mugen files. In other words I've looked a lot of places for them, they are about as real as the mugen creator's Suave dude

when you use curly's ultimate, quote makes a brief appearance. And I saw misery once in a picture showing a stage of the throne room fight, but that was a virus. A nasty one to.

 

FYI: This is my old account. The game takes place one one screen. All characters stay the same size. Think of it as a Cave Story Smash Bros.

This soooo needs to be a thing! I could help with console porting, if it were to ever get that far.

 

Wowza, never thought I'd get so much support. I was really immature then and I thought it was EASY to mod Cave Story. I have alot to do now.
-I need to get a new username
-I also need to get off my ass and learn to use Flixel

 

The ambition is real.

I think the hard part is setting up netplay within the Cave Story engine.
