Oh no I don't think you can't retain your cool around critism. It's moreso that you also gotta accept that sometimes people will not have positive points and that you should try not to have just one comment kill your confidence.

This may sound harsh but either way you're gonna have to be able to handle critism, especially when it's constructive. Having someone tell you you have a good direction but could still improve with tips to go along with it will always be miles better than just 'It's good'.

If anything I feel like they can appreciate the effort you put into it and threw in a couple cents as advice rather than just critism. It's good to see if said advice can help you improve rather than see them as reasons why something isnt as good as you hoped to be.

I suppose thats the benefit of forums; you get to see upfront what you will be dealing with. ...And you probably won't be blindsided by a welcome bot/channel that draws everyone's attention to you.

Especially not a fan of resources or such like downloads for stuff becomes locked behind them, it makes me feel forced to join a community to just grab a file.

You should check out HOME, it's a fangame for OFF but it's pretty good as one.

At this point whenever I go back to OFF I just go for easy combat because yeah I agree the battles are nothing interesting. It doesn't help when bosses feel like damage sponges, I've always felt 'when does it end?'.
